* We promote the festival as a Green and Sustainable event to encourage further research and use of green solutions.
PROMOTION AND COMMUNICATION:
* We prefer and use, where possible, e-mail communication to avoid excessive paper usage;
* We use recycled materials where possible;
* We use multiple-usage promotional and marketing tools.
FOOD:
* All stallholders are encouraged to purchase organic and locally sourced food to reduce transport milage and agricultural production impacts;
* We encourage all vendors to use biodegradable packaging and avoid disposable or single serve food products.
ENERGY:
* We explore options to reduce energy consumption - for example we organise more outdoor activities;
* We will now look into the purchase of accredited Green Power for duration of the event.
TRANSPORT:
* We promote and encourage riding a bike and walking to get to the event;
* Group transport is recommended rather than individual taxis or cars;
* We refer people to accommodation within walking distance of the venue, where possible;
* We provide a map of the venue and area in order to facilitate and encourage walking/public transport use.
WASTE:
* We ask all festivalgoes to kindly bring a plate with them so we all can avoid excessive food service packaging;
* We ensure appropriate recyclable and litter disposal options on the day;
* We avoid unnecessary promotional material with excessive packaging;
* We continuously are reducing the number of disposable products.
