Priya Subramaniam

Priya has always had an affinity for animals. She became a vegan when she learned about how animals are treated by industries. Priya completed her Master of Laws degree recently and is doing research into how lawyers can use the law to help animals.

The Power of Compassion
Nothing is more moving than a simple act of kindness. Compassion for others brings out the very best qualities in a human being. One of the most effective ways of showing kindness to others is to be a vegan. Why do we then see a vegan lifestyle as an inconvenience? In this speech, I will discuss how kindness to others can also empower you and improve your life (and the lives of others).

Why vegan?
What is veganism all about? How does your diet and lifestyle affect animals, the environment, health and human rights? How can I make the change from non vegan to vegan?

His interest in the environmental impacts of animal products led to the realisation that the human impact on the planet is changing the critical biochemical cycles of water, carbon and nitrogen, in ways that will have profound impacts. Today Geoff lives in Adelaide and is currently writing a book on the effects of modern day food production on the animals involved, our environment and ourselves.
